2005 Sadowsky Jim Hall Signature Nitrocellulose GuitarBrooklyn, NY USA Guitar #77with Original Blue Case and Strap.

The guitar has normal playing wear. It also has some minor scratches and scuffs (see pictures). This guitar is 20 years old and overall is in great condition in my opinion. The case has scuffs and is ruff in some parts, but it is somewhat desirable because it is the early Sadowsky blue version. The guitar plays amazing and sounds incredible plugged in. Please ask any and all questions before buying. This rare Sadowsky guitar is as described and all sale are final. It will be packed well.

*Please view pictures carefully and ask all questions before purchasing. We describe the items and have enough pictures for you to know what are buying and make an informed decision so there will be no returns. As with any used instrument, parts may be worn, scratchy etc. and may need to be cleaned, replaced or have normal maintenance done to be up to your expectations. That being said, please contact us first if you have any issues and we will be sure to rectify.Thank you very much.

Internet information on these guitars:

The Sadowsky Jim Hall Signature Brooklyn, NY USA Guitars with a Nitrocellulose finish were primarily produced in the early years of the model's run starting in 2003 with the first models made until 2006. These early models, especially the 2004 versions, featured a specific design with an elongated ebony pickguard, double lines of purfling, and a distinctive blue hardshell case.

Roger Sadowsky and Jim Hall collaborated on the model, which was first introduced in the early 2000s after two years of prototyping. Early models, such as those from 2004, are confirmed to have a nitrocellulose finish and a signature on the headstock. Around 2008 or later, Sadowsky transitioned the finish on the archtop models from nitrocellulose lacquer to a thin polyurethane finish.

Production HistoryUSA Production & Nitro Finish: The earliest Jim Hall models, including prototypes and initial small-batch production, were crafted in the USA with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The first guitar (#001) was delivered to Jim Hall in August 2003. Guitars from around 2004 and 2008 are confirmed to have had a nitro finish.Transition: At some point, production moved to Japan to make the professional instrument more widely available and affordable. The Japanese-made models switched to a high-quality, thin polyurethane finish, which was noted to be a change from the earlier nitrocellulose lacquer.

End of Production: Roger Sadowsky announced in May 2024 that Sadowsky archtop production was ending after 20 years. The remaining instruments would be available only from existing inventory. Therefore, the specific USA-made, nitro-finished models are generally limited to the early to mid-2000s. Later models made in Japan featured a different finish.
